WELCOME TO PIENINY

Pension Pltník is situated outside the community of Červený Kláštor (Red Monastery) in the beautiful surroundings of the gateway to Pieniny National Park, on the bank of the river Dunajec.

The Red Monastery, with a magical view of the dominant peak of Pieniny, – “Tri Koruny” (Three Crowns), is a tourist center of international importance and a tourist pearl of the Zamagurie region, abounding not only with preserved gifts of nature, but also with rich historical and cultural traditions.

The biggest attraction of the whole region is the rafting on traditional wooden rafts at the Dunajec breakthrough, which will satisfy even the most demanding tourists. The central platform of rafts is located next to the restaurant and pension Pltník.

RESTAURANT, ACCOMMODATION, CAMPING AND OTHER SERVICES

Pension Pltník has a capacity of 50 beds. In addition to accommodation, it offers its clients other services: wellness (Finnish sauna, infrared sauna, hydro-massage bathtub or classic massages), its own beach with access to the wellness area as well as to the river. You can find deckchairs, a children’s corner and a relaxation corner (with table tennis, billiards, foosball). On the pension’s premises there is a multifunctional sports ground, a playground for children, a fitness track and paintball. In the sport-equipment-rental you can find rafts, bikes, skis, balls and other sports equipment.

The attractive and welcome accommodation possibility in the Pension Pltník are three brand new, cozy and fully equipped Goral wooden houses – Chalúpky v Pieninách (Cottages in Pieniny – www.chatypieniny.sk).

On the pension’s premises there is also the camping site DUNAJEC (www.campingdunajec.sk) equipped with a kitchen, showers, toilets, electric connections, public fireplaces with a supply of wood, reserved parking places, public lighting, clothes dryers and wetsuits etc.

THE CYPRIAN LEGEND

The community of Červený Kláštor is known mainly as the place where the Carthusian monastery was built. Whether its name is justified by the red roof or it originated from something else, you will find out when you come for a visit. It is certain that it is associated with the legend of the flying monk Cyprian. The moving story of human desire and its fulfillment has been recently made into a movie.

POLAND IS VERY NEAR

The surroundings of the pension offer a wide range of relaxation, such as hiking, mountain and water tourism, rafting, cycling, folklore events, but also historical, cultural and architectural monuments and other activities. In addition to the Slovak wooden rafts, many Polish rafts also sail on the border river Dunajec. Visitors like to visit the Polish castle of Niedzica and take a cruise ship on Lake Czorsztyn.

DO NOT MISS

Cycling routes for lovers of “single-trails” were recently built in the nearby community of Lechnica. So visitors who love adrenaline sports can try these trails in addition to rafting, or running to the Three Crowns (peak of Tri Koruny) to see the magnificent crevices of the Dunajec canyon and of Pieniny region from above.
